9th International Marble and Natural Stones Congress and Exhibition of Turkey 

13th - 15th December, 2017

The Chamber of Mining Engineers of TURKEY is going to organize the 9th International Marble and Natural Stones Congress and Exhibition (MERSEM 2017) on December 13-15, 2017 in Maritim Pine Beach Resort, leriba Mevkii, 07525 Belek-Serik, Antalya, Turkey. 

 

The 1st Turkey Marble Symposium was held in 1995 and gained international conference status in 2010. Then, it became congress series in 2014 and continued as Globalstone2014. 

 

The Congress will aim at analyzing and discussing the problems in the natural stones industry and relaying technical and scientific advances to the researchers, managers and company representatives in the sector by bringing them on the same platform to achieve communication. 

 

In recent years, considering the developments in the region and in the world, natural stones sector of Turkey was obviously influenced by these developments. During the congress, current and future status of Turkey's natural stones sector which constitutes a share of 45% in mineral exports of Turkey alone, will be discussed elaborately by all the shareholders of the sector. 

Themes of the Congress are focused on Potential of Natural Stones in Turkey and the World;  Marble Quarrying and Methods;  Marble Factory Processing;  Marble Processing Machines and Technology;  Surface Treatment Technologies;  Natural Stones Economy;   Occupational Health and Safety;   Human Resources and Professional Training in the Sector;   Employment Problems;   Legal Regulations;   Applications in Architecture and Fine Arts ;   Building and Decoration;   Stones Standardization, Quality, Packaging and Analysis;   Environmental Interactions and Evaluation of the Natural Stones Waste;   Subcontracting Sector;   New Product Development and New Production Technologies;   Natural Stone Applications in Historical Period and  Innovation in the Natural Stone Sector. 

 

This international platform gives an opportunity for eminent speakers to present their papers.  The abstracts of the papers limited to 400 words are to be submitted through the Congress website on or before May 12, 2017 and full paper by July 28, 2017 subject to notification of acceptance of paper which would be notified by May 26, 2017.
