GLOBAL DEMAND FOR AGGREGATES SHOWS POSITIVE TREND
News Date: 26.05.2014
The growing construction activities in developed and developing countries is taking the demand of aggregates to higher levels. It is expected to reach 53.3 billion tonnes by 2017. The big demand is arising from emerging markets in Africa, Asia and the Middle East.
According to research company Fredonia, China would account for more than half of the new demand. However, growth in India, the second largest market in Asia, will be faster as the Chinese market matures and decelerates from the high growth levels. The volume of aggregates sold in Asia is expected to rise to 36.5 billion tonnes per year by 2017
