Almost 21 Thousand Business Professionals from  40 Countries Visited The 3rd Bursa International Marble Block Fair.

 

Almost all of the 15 million dollars worth of marble blocks exhibited in the Bursa International Marble Block Fair, which was organized for the third time this year with the collaboration of the Bursa Chamber of Trade and Industry (BTSO), TUYAP Bursa Fairs Organization Inc. and Mining-Marble Manufacturers, Industrialists and Businessmen's Association (MADSIAD), were sold. The Fair, in which approximately 2 thousand marble blocks with a total weight of 50 thousand tons were exhibited, has been visited by almost 21 thousand business professionals from 40 countries in 4 days.

 

One of the most important fairs with huge participation in Bursa, Bursa International Marble Block Fair, ended. Launched with the demands of marble block industry 3 years ago, the fair immensely boosted the foreign trade of mining industry and city economy primarily in Bursa while providing more strength to industry's export.

 

15 MILLION DOLLARS WORTH OF SALES

 

İbrahim Burkay, Chairman of the Board of Directors of BTSO, said that Bursa International Marble Block Fair, which is organized for the 3rd time this year, contributed huge dynamism to the industry. Stating that the fair hosted a big number of foreign buyer committees from more than 40 countries - primarily from China, India, Spain, Germany and Egypt, Mr Burkay said "Turkey has %40 of the world's natural stone reserves. Bursa is also one of the most important cities producing marble block in Turkey. Within the scope of the industry's demands, we have been organizing a productive fair for 3 years. In the fair, where important buyer committees were hosted, 15 million dollars worth of almost 2 thousand marble blocks were exhibited. Almost all of the exhibited marble blocks were sold in the fair."

 

FAIR'S VALUABLE SUPPORT TO EXPORT

 

Stating that the industry aims at exporting marble blocks of almost 2 billion dollars worth at the end of this year, Burkay said "The foreign trade volume of marble blocks grows every year. To achieve the objectives, fair organizations have a significant role. By visiting Bursa from all over the world, business professionals not only see the marble blocks exhibited in more than 500 different colors and patterns on-site but also seize the opportunity to observe the manufacturing sites. I believe that the cooperative relations built here will get stronger from now on. I hope this fair, which achieves a record growth within such a short period as 3 years, will bring the best of luck for our industry and our city, and also I would like to thank all of our participating companies."

 

20,898 PEOPLE FROM 40 COUNTRIES VISITED THE FAIR

 

İlhan Ersözlü, General Manager of Tüyap Bursa Fairs Organization Inc., said that the marble blocks were exhibited by 215 companies in a total area of 60 thousand square meters in 7 different halls and outdoor exhibition areas. Stating that almost all of the approximately 2 thousand marble blocks with the 15 million dollars worth were sold in the fair where also Morocco participated with its stand, Ersözlü said "The fair made a huge contribution to the natural stone and marble exports." Ersözlü said "Starting with a 50% growth in the exhibited marble blocks' number according to the previous year, the fair has been visited by buyer committees from more than 40 countries, primarily from China and India, and 20,898 professionals from 43 cities of Turkey. As the only trade fair on marble blocks in Turkey, which has a huge impact although having been held only for three years, the fair has solidified its position in the industry as a brand with a business volume of 4 days." 

 

NEXT YEAR'S RESERVATIONS ALREADY COMPLETE

 

Stating that the participating companies composed of Turkey's leading marble block manufacturers, and quarry and construction machinery companies were satisfied with the fair, Ersözlü said "Sector representatives have already booked their pre-reservations for the fair which will bring the entire sector together for the 4rd time between October 24 -27, 2018. "MOST MARBLES WERE SOLD BEFORE UNLOADED FROM TRUCKS”

 

MADSIAD Chairman Erol Efendioğlu stated that Bursa International Marble Block Fair will continue to grow every year. Saying that most marbles were sold out before unloaded from trucks, Efendioğlu continued "This year, we have organized a fair which is far beyond the expectations of our industry. The fact that almost all of the marble blocks were sold in the fair showed us one more time that organizing the fair was a right decision. This fair will be more developed in the upcoming years and it will lead Turkey to achieve its export objectives. I believe that, in the world, there is no other fair growing within such a short period as 3 years.
